Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, NC seeks a Clinical Operations Director - Oncology to lead and oversee nursing operations across the oncology service line. This 24/7 leadership role directs staffing, budgeting, and strategic planning to advance patient care and research.

The ideal candidate has a BSN or higher and a Master’s in a related field, with at least five years of nursing experience including two in management, preferably with oncology background.

Qualifications

• BSN or higher in Nursing required.
• Master's degree in a related field required.
• Five years nursing experience with at least 2 years in a management role.
• Oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate work of designated employees to meet CSU/Departmental, Hospital and Health System objectives related to patient care.
• Develop strategic and operational plans for assigned clinical areas and communicate and evaluate them.
• Develop and communicate vision for unit care delivery models and refine them.
• Provide developmental opportunities for direct reports.
• Serve as clinical operational liaison regarding policies, personnel administration and budgetary preparation and control.
• Coordinate clinical operational activities to ensure staffing, space and facilities; oversee procurement and renovation activities.
• Determine and recommend necessary space, equipment, supplies and support systems for effective functioning.
• Ensure safe environment of care and staff development, recruitment and retention.
• Develop and support unit governance structures and ensure staff participation in Nursing Structures.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
