Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for potential new nuclear generation. You will lead complex procurement activities across materials, equipment, engineering, construction, and professional services necessary to evaluate capital projects and drive total value.

Relocation assistance is offered. The role requires collaboration with Legal, Tax, Insurance, and Nuclear Oversight teams to ensure cost, schedule, and quality objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years related work experience.
• In lieu of Bachelor's degree(s) AND 5 year(s) related work experience listed above, Associates degree AND 7 year(s) or High School/GED AND 9 year(s) related work experience
• Lead Sourcing Specialist requires Bachelor's degree and 7 years related work experience; in lieu of Bachelor's degree etc.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing Strategy Development: develop and present sourcing strategies for complex, high-value items and services.
• Strategy Execution and Governance: lead end-to-end sourcing activities including RFIs, RFPs, supplier evaluations and contract releases.
• Negotiation and Commercial Value Delivery: develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations for high-value contracts.
• Risk, Compliance and Quality: identify and manage sourcing risks in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Quality teams.
• Supplier Qualification, Performance, and Corrective Action: monitor supplier commitments and performance and drive corrective actions.
• Business Partner, Project, and Stakeholder Management: partner with nuclear businesses and cross-functional teams to align sourcing with project goals.
• Change Management and Continuous Improvement: improve processes, governance, and reporting across procurement activities.
