Job summary

Downtown Denver Partnership is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls across affiliated entities. Reporting to the CFO, you will guide budgeting, cash management, and financial planning for long-term success.

You will oversee a two-person team, manage audits, and administer core software platforms while driving strategic financial initiatives across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Nonprofit/government fund accounting knowledge required.
• Strong GAAP understanding and financial reporting skills.
• Experience leading accounting teams and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and year-end close with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and standards.
• Prepare AR, collections, accrued revenue reports; support Board packages.
• Oversee grants accounting and compliance for government funding.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, and transfers for programs.
• Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and tax preparers.
• Assist CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and multi-entity planning.
• Develop accounting policies and strengthen internal controls.
• Administer MS Dynamics 365 Business Central, Salesforce, and banking platforms.
• Review key balance sheet accounts and reconciliations; monitor credit card activity.
• Provide Salesforce oversight for reporting and system planning as needed.
