Job summary

The Hope Foundation, Inc. is seeking a strategic Controller in Ann Arbor, hybrid. You will lead accounting operations, grants administration, and audit readiness to ensure compliant, timely financial reporting for a complex portfolio of grants and clinical trials.

With 7+ years in nonprofit finance and deep GAAP knowledge, you will mentor a four-person team and partner with the CFO on forecasting, cash management, and strategic financial planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; professional certification preferred.
• Seven+ years of accounting and financial management experience, nonprofit focus ideal.
• Experience with federal grants, restricted funds, and clinical trial accounting.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit GAAP, fund accounting, and 2 CFR Part 200.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations: GL, AP/AR, reconciliations, close processes.
• Lead grant and clinical trial accounting, revenue recognition, and reporting.
• Maintain internal controls, policies, and audit readiness for reviews.
• Coordinate external audits and SEFA/Single Audit preparations.
