Wegner CPAs in Madison, WI, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the Accounting Solutions Group as Supervisor, overseeing outsourced accounting and financial leadership for nonprofit clients. This client-facing role focuses on strengthening financial operations, reporting, and strategic planning.

You will direct accounting operations, lead budgeting and forecasting, manage risk through internal controls, and act as a trusted advisor to client leadership and boards.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, controllership, or a related role.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Experience in Non Profit Accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, projections, and management reporting.
• Ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead client financial operations for assigned nonprofit clients.
• Provide financial leadership and strategic guidance to client leadership teams.
• Conduct monthly remote client meetings focused on financial analysis, performance, and strategic planning.
• Review monthly financial statements, reports, and analysis prepared by Outsourced Accountants.
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients and their professional service providers.
• Attend and present at client finance committee and board meetings.
