Job summary

Jobtailor in Ohio is seeking a Network Engineer to monitor performance, manage security controls, and lead LAN/WAN upgrades across the enterprise. You will document designs, implement VPNs, and drive improvements in availability and fault isolation.

Responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, developing runbooks, coordinating with stakeholders, and performing advanced troubleshooting to reduce MTTR while ensuring compliance and thorough incident response readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience in network performance monitoring and security controls.
• Ability to design, implement, and document LAN/WAN solutions.
• Experience with firewall administration and VPN technologies.
• Valid CCNA/CCNP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability; investigate alerts, identify root cause, and resolve escalated issues.
• Configure and maintain network monitoring and logging to improve visibility and reduce MTTR.
• Lead or co-lead network upgrades and new deployments, including implementation and rollback plans.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across switching, routing, wireless, and related services.
• Develop implementation documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
