Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a Capital Construction Project Manager to lead the execution of distribution center capacity and efficiency projects from concept through completion.

You will analyze costs, prepare funding requests, and oversee design, bidding, vendor selection and project execution with internal teams and external partners. The role requires 5–7 years in material handling and distribution center projects, a 4-year engineering degree (MBA preferred), and strong skills in Excel,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in Material Handling Systems project management and/or facility operations.
• Demonstrated strong understanding and experience with the implementation of automated material handling systems and equipment.
• Four-year degree in Engineering or equivalent field; MBA preferred.
• Experience in new distribution center start-up and supply chain project leadership.
• Proven track record as a successful project manager including financial and process management.
• Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Participate and drive the design, specification and bid review processes for supply chain strategy projects, including preparation of estimates, funding requests, MHE vendor evaluation and selection.
• Oversee project activities to ensure quality of work, schedule adherence and budget control.
• Coordinate commissioning, testing and training plans for startup of a facility or system.
• Communicate with contractor project management, IT and Network Strategy on project issues and progress.
• Identify risks and opportunities, and advise leadership on alternatives to meet objectives.
