Job summary

Google is recruiting a Strategic Negotiator to drive market development and regulatory strategies for distributed energy resources across North America, including VPP capacity design and regulatory engagement.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn policy insights into scalable, value-driven grid solutions, shaping policy outcomes with industry coalitions and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.
• Preferred: experience with energy policy, markets and coalitions.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory and market development strategies across North America.
• Develop and execute utility engagement and regulatory strategies.
• Align project priorities with regional regulatory frameworks to advance distributed capacity portfolios.
• Lead advocacy within regulatory bodies to secure market access and fair capacity compensation.
• Support commercial negotiations and partnerships to create scalable VPP program designs.
