Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead operational improvement initiatives within mining operations. You will oversee projects from feasibility through implementation and handover, coordinating engineers, geologists, and contractors to enhance safety, efficiency and productivity.

The role emphasizes on-site leadership, delivering budgets, timelines, and regulatory compliance while driving innovative technologies and process changes across mining sites.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management experience in mining or heavy industrial sectors.
• Proven experience leading process optimization, equipment upgrades or tech implementations in mining.
• Strong knowledge of mining operations, challenges and safety considerations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project) and operational analysis tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Mining/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations in mining.
• Ability to work effectively on-site and lead operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and execute projects to improve mining operations, safety and efficiency.
• Develop detailed project plans with scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Lead project teams including engineers, geologists, operators and contractors.
• Oversee implementation of new technologies, equipment or process changes on sites.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations during execution.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage project finances and ensure delivery within budget.
• Collaborate with site management, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure alignment.
