Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management experience in mining or heavy industrial sectors.

About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the mining industry, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead initiatives focused on operational improvement and efficiency enhancement within their mining operations. This role is critical for identifying and implementing projects that optimize extraction processes, improve safety, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity. You will manage the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and feasibility studies through to implementation, monitoring, and successful handover. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mining operations, engineering principles, and project management methodologies, coupled with a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the modernization and optimization of key mining activities in Upington, Northern Cape, a region rich in mineral resources. We are seeking a driven and results-oriented leader with a proven ability to manage complex operational projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the identification, planning, and execution of projects aimed at improving mining operations, safety, and efficiency.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Manage project teams, including engineers, geologists, operators, and external contractors.
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies, equipment, or process changes within mining sites.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Requirements
