Job summary

Walgreens in Deerfield, IL is seeking a Merchandise Planner to lead the annual and weekly financial plan, develop the demand plan, and evaluate pricing and promotions. You will collaborate with the Category Management Team to drive budgeted P&L results in a matrix organization.

You will analyze performance, forecast scenarios, and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize inventory and profitability while ensuring cross-functional alignment with Retail Products teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years in retail, merchandising, planning, demand planning, inventory or analytics.
• Or a High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years in two of the following areas: retail, merchandising, planning, demand planning, inventory management, allocation, analytics or replenishment.

Responsibilities

• Develops category/department financial plans to hit sales and profit goals and compares scenarios.
• Partners with Retail Products and cross functional teams to drive initiatives with end-to-end P&L impact.
• Creates highly analytical insights to resolve issues proactively and identify trends.
• Provides post mortem analysis to maximize results.
• Identifies item-level opportunities to drive performance while controlling inventory; analyzes trends, pricing, promotions, markdowns, and budgets to build a demand plan.
• Performs annual financial planning and weekly forecasting; produces reports to align category teams and partners.
• Drives development of broad-reaching initiatives and establishes guidelines, best practices, and standards.
