Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Clinical Development Medical Director to serve as Medical Lead for multiple trials across Phases, collaborating with cross-functional teams on strategy, design and execution, and acting as Medical Monitor for subject safety.

The role involves leading study documents, regulatory submissions, and liaising with internal groups to advance clinical development programs while supporting total rewards and flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent ex-US medical degree required.
• Board certification/eligibility in a specialty field highly desired.
• Experience in analysis of research data and publications; working knowledge of biostatistics; working knowledge of GCP and clinical study methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Study Protocols, Investigator Brochures, and Clinical Development Plans with minimal guidance.
• Serve on cross-functional Study Execution Teams for assigned trials to ensure efficient study execution.
• Assist in regulatory documents for submissions, safety reports, and regulatory communications.
