Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC, based in Boston, MA, seeks a Clinical Development Associate Medical Director to lead clinical trial strategy, design, execution, and reporting. You will monitor safety and ensure scientific integrity as internal Medical Monitor and work with cross-functional teams on study programs.

The role requires MD/DO or equivalent, 8+ years of research experience, and strong collaboration across regulatory affairs and clinical development.

Qualifications

• MD, DO or equivalent ex-US medical degree.
• Typically requires 8 years of basic or clinical research experience.
• Board certification/eligibility and clinical training desired.
• Experience with regulatory submissions and ethics committees.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development of Study Protocols, Investigator's Brochures, Clinical Development Plans and other key documents.
• Serves on cross-functional Study Execution Teams (SET) for assigned trials.
• Participates in preparation of regulatory documents for submissions, including IND/CTAs and safety reports.
• Provides scientific input to study documents and analysis plans.
• Acts as liaison between Clinical Development and other internal groups.
• Represents Vertex to outside medical personnel in protocol development and external reporting of results.
• Performs other duties as assigned related to Clinical Development.
