Job summary

KLA in San Diego, CA is seeking a Material Planner to coordinate material flow across production cycles. You will plan, schedule and monitor movement, determine requirements from production schedules and collaborate with purchasing, production and engineering to avoid shortages.

Required: strong analytical and cross-functional teamwork, a BS in Business or equivalent, and experience with MRP; SAP is preferred. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well with cross-functional teams as well as independently.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work on complex problems where analysis of the situation requires a review of a variety of factors.
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively and efficiently provide guidance to various teams within Operations.
• B.S. in Business (or equivalent).
• Experience and/or working knowledge of MRP.
• Experience with SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle.
• Determines material requirements from production schedules.
• Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering.
• Ensures non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized.
• Track shortages and run shortage meetings with procurement team.
• Highlight to management critical part shortages that will jeopardize ship schedule.
• Responsible for maintaining bill of materials, ensuring bill of material supports efficient material flow and is aligned with assembly process.
• Planner must understand manufacturing capacity and allocate as required to meet build plan commitments.
