Job summary

Mestek Machinery seeks a Materials Manager to lead material planning, supplier coordination and inventory control in a fast-paced HVAC manufacturing environment. The role blends tactical execution with strategic sourcing, scheduling, and capacity planning to support engineered-to-order production.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on leadership, ERP/MRP proficiency, and a continuous improvement mindset to optimize material flow, supplier performance, and overall shop-floor operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 5+ years in purchasing, materials management, inventory control, production planning, or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management processes.
• Previous leadership experience managing buyers, warehouse, personnel, planners, or similar team members preferred.

Responsibilities

• Material planning & commodity management.
• Own material availability to support production schedules and customer commitments.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Operations to resolve material constraints and supply risks.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and corrective actions when expectations are not met.
• Lead inventory replenishment activities to ensure material availability while controlling inventory investment.
• Develop inventory control processes and visual management systems.
• Partner with the Warehouse Lead to improve inventory accuracy, organization, and material flow.
• Develop, maintain, and improve materials, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, and planning procedures.
• Support ISO compliance activities, audits, and documentation updates.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, material flow, supplier performance, ERP utilization, and operational efficiency.
