Job summary

Chicago Tube & Iron is seeking a Materials Manager in St. Paul, MN to oversee inventory control, material planning, and procurement for branch operations. You will balance customer service, inventory investment, and efficiency while leading a team and building vendor relationships.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in a materials, inventory, purchasing, or supply chain role, with steel distribution experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience in materials, inventory, purchasing, or supply chain roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review forecasts for major customers and maintain inventory levels.
• Manage branch's special inventory and procurement to meet commitments.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships and supplier performance.
• Identify and implement best practices to reduce inventory and improve turns.
• Collaborate with Corporate Purchasing and other CTI branches.
• Monitor aging inventory and optimize open purchase orders.
• Provide leadership to Traffic Coordinators and ensure timely reporting.
