Job summary

Caterpillar's Pontiac, IL facility is seeking a Material Planning Analyst to schedule, plan and oversee material procurement, production and delivery processes. You will work within a global manufacturing environment focused on efficiency and reliability.

You will collaborate with production teams to maintain optimal inventory, develop forecasts, and ensure on-time material availability while applying DRP and MRP concepts. Domestic relocation is available.

Qualifications

• Decision making and critical thinking skills with ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions.
• Knowledge of DRP processes for inventory distribution and planning.
• Internal resource coordination to synchronize activities and optimize utilization.
• MRP knowledge to optimize manufacturing cycles and ensure material availability.
• Materials handling and management of storage, transport and handling.
• Planning and organizing to manage tasks and resources efficiently.
• Problem solving with structured approaches to identify and resolve issues.
• Relationship management to build productive vendor and stakeholder partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Participates in scheduling production and delivery processes to meet productivity and cost targets.
• Develops and executes material planning to meet program material requirements on time.
• Organizes material flow within manufacturing and transfers to/from inventory.
• Generates forecasts and manages replenishment planning to meet service levels.
