Job summary

AkzoNobel is seeking an Independent Materials Planner located in Columbus, OH. You will plan raw and packaging materials to enable the production schedule, create purchase orders, and coordinate with procurement, production planning, and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials.

The role requires 1+ year in supply planning, SAP SD experience and strong analytical skills, with English fluency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
• At least 1 year experience in supply planning in FMCG/paint/coatings or retail
• Experience with SAP SD and MRP and BI tools
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

• Review and update material planning; ensure material availability for production
• Create purchase orders and advise production planning on timelines
• Support material controllers with analyses for visibility
• Manage MRP exception messages
• Lead cross-functional gate-keeping meetings and report KPIs
• Provide impact analyses for planning decisions and scenarios
• Engage with suppliers and procurement to address capacity constraints
• Balance service levels with inventory targets and cost considerations
