Job summary

Schaeffler is seeking a results-driven Material Buyer to develop and implement sourcing strategies for materials. You will identify suppliers, conduct evaluations, negotiate terms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and ensure cost-effective supply.

Ideal candidates will have strong negotiation, project management, and analytical skills, with experience in supplier management and ERP/eSourcing tools. Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence suppliers to achieve favorable terms
• Project management experience, including planning, coordinating, and delivering projects on time and within scope
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in supplier management and contract negotiation
• Familiarity with procurement software and systems (e.g., ERP, eSourcing platforms)
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure a consistent and cost-effective supply of materials.
• Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts and pricing terms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand raw material requirements and forecast demand.
• Monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance to optimize sourcing decisions.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.
• Resolve supplier issues, such as quality concerns, delivery delays, and price discrepancies.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function.
• Stay updated on regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to raw material sourcing
