Job summary

Schaeffler Group USA Inc. in Fort Mill, SC, is seeking a materials procurement specialist to develop and implement sourcing strategies that ensure a cost-effective supply of materials across automotive, aerospace, and industrial sectors.

The role requires proven material buying experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to lead projects. You will collaborate with internal teams, manage supplier relationships, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience as a material buyer, procurement specialist or in supply chain
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence suppliers to achieve favorable terms
• Project management experience, including planning, coordinating, and delivering projects on time and within scope
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in supplier management and contract negotiation
• Familiarity with procurement software and systems (e.g., ERP, eSourcing platforms)
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship
