Overview

The Strategic Marketplace Insights Manager is a highly analytical and strategic position. This role is responsible for driving business strategy, conducting in-depth analytics, and identifying opportunities to maximize the value and growth of the marketplace business. The role plays a key in expanding market share by leveraging data-driven insights and innovative approaches to optimize marketplace sales and operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Marketplace Management:
    • Recommend and implement tactics to enhance marketplace value, including pricing strategies, assortment optimization, and promotional activities.
    • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of marketplace campaigns and initiatives, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Partner with marketplace account managers and external partners to maximize visibility and sales.
    • Manage and maintain daily accuracy of marketplace data, including listing disputes, product catalog health, pricing changes and inventory updates. Partners include merchants & legal / compliance.
    • Manage and support weekly discussions with Amazon, Walmart and other partners on how to optimize performance and create action plans to do so.
  • Marketplace Strategy:
    • Develop and execute strategies to grow marketplace sales and increase market share.
    • Identify new marketplace opportunities and evaluate their potential impact on business growth.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (P&T, Merchandising, and Supply Chain) to align marketplace initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Analytics & Insights:
    • Analyze marketplace performance metrics, sales data, and customer trends to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
    • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate findings to stakeholders.
    • Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark performance and inform strategic decisions.
  • Market Intelligence:
    • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in eCommerce and marketplace management.
    • Provide thought leadership and guidance on marketplace expansion and innovation.
Education And Experience

  • Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Area of Study: Business, Marketing, Analytics, or related field.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in related field
  • Type of Experience: Experience in marketplace sales and eCommerce, with a proven track record of driving business growth.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
    • Experience with major online marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, eBay) and marketplace management platforms.
    • Experience with SQL or other data querying languages, a plus.
    • Experience with developing & managing paid media campaigns across marketplace platforms
    • Familiarity with digital marketing and eCommerce platforms & partners.
  • Language Skills: English – Fluent

    • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule: The salary range for this role is $65,700/year to $102,650/year, however all state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed. The company offers competitive salaries, a benefits package, which includes a 401(k) and more, along with plenty of opportunity to move and grow within our organization!
