Compensation: $96,000 - $146,000 / year

Description

We are seeking a Strategic Marketing Manager to partner directly with Industry Leaders and Partners-in-Charge to develop and execute market-facing growth strategies for key industry verticals.

This role serves as the strategic marketing leader for assigned industries, responsible for translating firm objectives into actionable go-to-market plans that drive brand awareness, market positioning, relationship development, and revenue growth.

The Strategic Marketing Manager will combine market intelligence, business strategy, and marketing expertise to identify growth opportunities, prioritize investments, and ensure all marketing activities align with the firm's strategic objectives. While execution may be supported by specialists and external resources, this role owns the strategic direction, prioritization, measurement, and overall success of the industry's marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Go-to-Market Strategy Development
  • Partner with Industry Leaders and Partners-in-Charge to develop and maintain comprehensive go-to-market strategies for assigned industry verticals.
  • Align vertical marketing plans with firm-wide strategic objectives, growth targets, and business development priorities.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive positioning, client needs, and emerging opportunities to identify areas for differentiation and growth.
  • Facilitate annual and quarterly strategic planning sessions with industry leadership.
  • Develop target account, target audience, and market segmentation strategies that support revenue growth objectives.
Strategic Marketing Planning
  • Translate growth strategies into annual marketing plans with clear objectives, initiatives, budgets, and success metrics.
  • Prioritize marketing investments across events, sponsorships, thought leadership, digital campaigns, partnerships, and business development initiatives.
  • Recommend resource allocation and marketing spend based on expected business impact and return on investment.
  • Build and manage integrated marketing roadmaps that support industry growth goals.
Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification
  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, threats, and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor industry developments and provide strategic recommendations to industry leadership.
  • Assess sponsorships, conferences, partnerships, and speaking opportunities through a strategic lens, evaluating alignment with business objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Develop business cases and recommendations for new marketing investments and growth initiatives.
Strategic Initiative Leadership
  • Serve as the strategic owner of all marketing initiatives within assigned verticals.
  • Ensure every campaign, event, content initiative, and business development activity directly supports established go-to-market objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing specialists, business development teams, subject matter experts, and external vendors to execute approved initiatives.
  • Establish clear goals, success metrics, and accountability for all marketing programs.
Stakeholder Partnership & Influence
  • Act as the primary marketing advisor to Industry Leaders and Partners-in-Charge.
  • Build strong relationships with partners, practice leaders, business development professionals, and firm leadership.
  • Facilitate alignment across stakeholders and drive consensus around strategic priorities.
  • Provide regular strategic updates, insights, and recommendations to leadership teams.
Performance Measurement & Optimization
  • Define and monitor KPIs tied to awareness, engagement, pipeline generation, client acquisition, and revenue growth.
  • Analyze performance across marketing initiatives and provide data-driven recommendations for optimization.
  • Lead quarterly and annual business reviews for assigned industry verticals.
  • Continuously refine go-to-market strategies based on results, market changes, and stakeholder feedback.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 5-8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including strategic planning, go-to-market development, and growth-focused marketing within professional services, B2B, financial services, consulting, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior executives and influencing strategic business decisions.
  • Experience in industry vertical marketing within any of the following: Manufacturing, Real Estate, Nonprofit, Venture Capital, Private Wealth, Sustainability, Financial Services
  • Strong understanding of market segmentation, positioning, demand generation, account-based marketing, and business development alignment.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate data and market insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience developing and managing integrated marketing plans and budgets.
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead through influence in a matrixed organization without direct authority.
  • Strong project leadership capabilities with a track record of driving complex initiatives to completion.
  • Proficiency with CRM, marketing automation, reporting, and project management platforms.
What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measured not by the number of campaigns executed, but by the business impact those initiatives create.

The Strategic Marketing Manager is viewed as a trusted advisor to industry leadership, helping shape growth strategy, prioritize investments, and position the firm for long-term success. Marketing initiatives are aligned to clear business objectives, resources are invested in the highest-value opportunities, and industry leaders have confidence that their go-to-market strategy is driving measurable growth, stronger market presence, and increased pipeline contribution.
