Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Marketing to provide strategic and operational leadership across our marketing organization. The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the teams that plan, develop, and execute marketing strategies across the firm’s industry verticals and firm services. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing, this leader will oversee the Strategic Marketing Managers and Marketing Production team, ensuring marketing priorities are translated into coordinated, high-quality execution that drives pipeline, revenue growth, and measurable business results.

This role requires a strong people and operational leader who can create alignment across teams, establish clear priorities and accountability, allocate resources effectively, and ensure marketing initiatives move efficiently from strategy through execution.

The Director will also serve as a strategic partner to the Vice President of Marketing, helping translate firmwide, industry, service-line, and international priorities into actionable marketing plans.

This is an ideal opportunity for a strong marketing leader who can move seamlessly between strategy, people leadership, and execution, building an accountable, high-performing team focused on driving meaningful business outcomes.

Ultimately, this leader will give the Vice President of Marketing greater strategic capacity by owning the day-to-day leadership, performance, and execution of the marketing organization while ensuring the team delivers against the firm’s growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Marketing Organization

  • Directly manage and develop 3–4 Strategic Marketing Managers responsible for industry vertical and firm services marketing.
  • Own the operational success and performance of the Marketing Production Team, a team of 6.
  • Provide clear direction, priorities, expectations, and accountability across the marketing organization.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, performance management, hiring, development, and succession planning.
  • Create an environment centered on collaboration, accountability, efficiency, executional excellence, and measurable business impact.

Drive Industry & Firm Services Marketing

  • Ensure industry vertical and firm services marketing strategies are consistently and effectively executed across the organization.
  • Hold Strategic Marketing Managers accountable for developing and executing marketing plans that align with business priorities and growth objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen coordination across industries and services and leverage successful marketing strategies across the firm.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure marketing priorities remain aligned with evolving business needs and growth opportunities.

Ensure Executional & Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the connection between marketing strategy and production, ensuring priorities move efficiently from planning into market.
  • Establish processes, workflows, timelines, and standards that enable marketing teams to operate efficiently and deliver consistently high-quality work.
  • Manage competing priorities and allocate people, budget, and production capacity to the initiatives with the greatest strategic and business value.
  • Identify execution gaps, resource constraints, and process inefficiencies and take action to resolve them.
  • Establish clear accountability for deadlines, deliverables, quality, and business results.

Drive Pipeline & Revenue Growth

  • Build a performance-oriented marketing organization focused on creating demand, generating pipeline, supporting revenue growth, and strengthening market position.
  • Ensure marketing strategies define clear business objectives and measures of success.
  • Partner with business and sales leaders to connect marketing priorities with growth opportunities.
  • Monitor marketing performance and use data and insights to optimize programs, investments, and resource allocation.
  • Raise the organization’s focus from marketing activity and output to measurable business outcomes and growth.

Strategic Partnership & Resource Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Vice President of Marketing, translating firm strategy into actionable priorities across the marketing organization.
  • Support the execution of firmwide, industry vertical, firm services, and international marketing strategies.
  • Provide recommendations regarding marketing priorities, organizational structure, capabilities, resources, and investment.
  • Manage resources across the function, including personnel, budget, external partners, and production capacity.
  • Step into broader marketing leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Vice President of Marketing, as appropriate.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Significant progressive marketing experience, including leadership of multidisciplinary marketing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing managers and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience leading industry, service-line, B2B, or professional services marketing strategies and programs.
  • Strong understanding of demand generation, pipeline development, integrated marketing, and revenue-oriented marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business strategies into marketing plans and drive those plans through execution.
  • Strong operational leadership with experience managing priorities, resources, budgets, workflows, and organizational capacity.
  • Ability to use marketing performance data to evaluate effectiveness and make informed investment and prioritization decisions.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to build effective relationships with senior business, sales, and marketing leaders.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related discipline.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means industry vertical and firm services marketing is consistently being executed at a high level, the marketing organization is operating efficiently, and marketing activity is translating into measurable pipeline and revenue growth.

The Director will create clear accountability from strategy through execution.
