Job summary

Foley & Lardner LLP seeks a Director of Market & Client Communications to lead market-facing communications that strengthen the firm’s brand and client development efforts. You will shape narratives for clients, prospects, and recruiting audiences, drive demand creation, and coordinate with BD, Talent, and recruiting teams to align go-to-market efforts.

You will manage external agencies, oversee PR and content strategy, and develop internal communications to support lawyers and business

Qualifications

• Extensive strategic marketing communications and brand experience (15+ years) required.
• Law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Impeccable written and verbal communications, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
• Collaborative relationship builder with cross-functional influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated external and go-to-market communications strategies to support client development, market growth, and talent acquisition.
• Direct and manage agency and external supplier support, including budget and cross-geography coordination.
• Shape and steward Foley's market-facing narrative, highlighting differentiators, culture, and client value.
• Oversee PR, awards nominations, rankings submissions, and content strategy to elevate visibility and capabilities.
• Partner with BD, Client Development, sector leaders, attorneys, Talent, and Recruiting to create communications plans that drive revenue and recruitment outcomes.
• Develop internal sales-enablement communications and capability talking points for lawyers and staff.
• Lead thought leadership strategy, editorial planning, and content development tied to priority industries and client needs.
