Job summary

Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking a Director of Market & Client Communications to lead market-facing communications and drive client development. The role shapes the firm’s narrative for clients, prospects, and recruiting audiences, coordinating with BD, talent, and external agencies to deliver integrated campaigns and content strategies.

The position focuses on demand generation, thought leadership, and employer branding, with responsibility for internal communications and cross- geographies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of strategic marketing communications and brand experience.
• Law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Impeccable written and verbal communications skills.
• Collaborative relationship builder with the interpersonal skills to work across the BD & Marketing Communications function.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated external and go-to-market communications strategies.
• Direct and manage agency and external supplier support, including budgeting.
• Shape and steward Foley's market-facing narrative and messaging.
• Oversee PR, awards submissions, and content strategy.
• Partner with BD, Client Development, sector leaders, and Recruiting on plans.
• Develop internal sales-enablement communications and talking points.
• Lead thought leadership strategy and editorial planning.
• Identify high-impact stories and client issues for publicity.
• Coordinate with digital, social, events, and marketing technology teams.
