Job summary

Hunter Hamilton is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support purchasing and supplier coordination for an established manufacturing operation in the United States. The role focuses on vendor relationships, purchase orders, and keeping production running smoothly.

The successful candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, experience in manufacturing, and a proactive approach to supplier follow-up. This position is on-site at our manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, ideally in manufacturing.
• Experience in metal stamping/fabrication or automotive/industrial manufacturing is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; AS400 is beneficial.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities for raw materials, components, outside services, and MRO supplies.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers; assist with vendor selection and evaluations.
• Review purchase orders, pricing, and specifications to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor delivery schedules, follow up on outstanding orders, and expedite when needed.
• Coordinate vendor returns and purchasing-related issues.
• Prepare and distribute purchasing reports and supplier documentation.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support material availability and operations.
• Collaborate with HR on employee meals, engagement activities, and events.
