Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a production planning professional in the United States to lead the coordination of material planning and production scheduling.

This role supports meeting customer delivery requirements and driving cost efficiency across manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include cross-functional collaboration with production, supply chain, materials, quality, and operations teams, plus ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and delivery performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in SCM, Operations Management, Business, Engineering or related field.
• Experience in manufacturing, production planning, materials management, or operations leadership.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems to manage production schedules, inventory, and materials planning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of production activities to meet delivery requirements and cost objectives.
• Develop and manage material planning to ensure availability for schedules and demand.
• Coordinate flow of materials across production, inventory, and warehouse locations.
• Monitor inventory levels, material availability, and production capacity.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive performance improvements.
• Analyze data to identify bottlenecks and balance resources for efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction.
• Ensure manufacturing and distribution plans align with business objectives and capabilities.
• Drive problem-solving to address production, material, and supply chain challenges.
