Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Materials Planning Analyst in Mapleton, IL to coordinate material flow, plan procurement, and oversee delivery within the manufacturing site. The role focuses on aligning material requirements with program schedules to support on-time production.

You will monitor inventory, release materials, and build procurement plans while collaborating with suppliers. Proficiency in Excel and Power BI, plus strong attention to detail and problem-solving, are important for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in material planning, procurement and production scheduling.
• Familiarity with ERP and supplier coordination.
• Ability to work onsite in Mapleton, IL.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate flow of materials within the manufacturing facility.
• Coordinate transfer of materials to and from inventory or warehouse.
• Develop and execute material planning for a product line.
• Schedule and control the release of materials.
• Monitor material inventory in the plant, in the warehouse, and with suppliers.
• Build procurement plan realization to align with business objectives.
• Track and analyze supplier performance metrics and negotiate delivery terms.
