Job summary

LIGHTERA in Norcross, Georgia is seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to improve productivity by planning and coordinating labor, parts and materials for all maintenance work. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and reliability in a manufacturing setting.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will develop schedules from backlog, estimate costs, and ensure timely availability of parts and tools, with weekly planning meetings and close collaboration with production.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical background required; tech school preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Maintenance Manager and liaises with production.
• Process work orders: review, describe scope, set priorities and lead times.
• Create filled-out work orders; escalate for approval when needed.
• Assess unplanned work orders; consult Maintenance Manager as needed.
• Obtain blueprints, drawings and manuals to clarify work orders.
• Coordinate with Parts coordinator for timely parts delivery.
• Identify required materials and enter on work orders.
• Prioritize safety in planning maintenance work.
• Estimate labor hours, sequence steps, tools and costs per order.
• Maintain backlog of Ready and Hold work orders with delay codes.
• Verify availability of parts, materials and tools before execution.
• Understand PM workload to improve scheduling.
• Develop maintenance schedules from backlog and available labor.
• Meet deadlines for scheduling and balance with man-hours.
• Coordinate checkout and staging of parts and tools.
• Distribute schedules with work orders to Maintenance Manager.
• Discuss planning packages with any special instructions.
• Follow up on progress and reports; closeout documentation.
