Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking a Mainframe Technical Business Analyst (COBOL & Payment Systems) in Columbus, GA. This onsite contract role focuses on bridging legacy COBOL/JCL mainframe operations with modern business workflows, delivering precise technical specs and ensuring SDLC compliance.

You will translate complex business needs into requirements, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support UAT, defect resolution, and continuous process improvement within the Core Systems Modernization

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of Business Analysis experience in mainframe environments.
• Core Mainframe tech: COBOL, JCL, mainframe utilities.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, requirements elicitation, and process modeling.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current mainframe processes to identify gaps and modernization opportunities.
• Translate business needs into detailed requirements, user stories, and use cases.
• Coordinate with business, operations, development, and QA to validate solutions and ensure alignment with requirements.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and SDLC documentation.
• Lead knowledge transfer and drive continuous process improvement while ensuring data protection.
