Job summary
FIS in Atlanta is seeking a Mainframe Software Engineer to contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of critical card management and payment processing solutions.
You will design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and related technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, compliant, and reliable systems in a hybrid work environment across Atlanta.
Qualifications
- Strong COBOL programming skills and mainframe experience.
- Experience with IBM z/OS, CICS, VSAM and DB2.
- Familiarity with IMS/IMS DB/DC and MQ Series.
- Understanding of SDLC, testing, and change management.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support critical card management and payment processing solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications for transaction processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions.
- Contribute to regulatory compliance, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL-based applications.
- Create and execute comprehensive unit tests for functionality and performance.
- Participate in design discussions, code walkthroughs, and reviews.
- Create technical documentation, evidence, and change records for audits.
