Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a client in finding a seasoned Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end operations in Welkom, South Africa. The role centers on optimizing the procurement-to-delivery flow, reducing lead times and improving service levels for customers.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in SCM or related field with at least 6 years of logistics experience and a proven track record in cost reduction, inventory control, and supplier negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management.
• Proven track record of optimizing supply chain performance and reducing costs.
• Strong understanding of inventory management systems and transportation management software.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing operations within the Free State province or similar industrial areas.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize all aspects of the logistics and supply chain operations in Welkom .
• Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
• Negotiate with suppliers and logistics providers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
• Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant trade regulations and company policies.
