Job summary

Copperweld is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to strategically manage freight transportation across our manufacturing and distribution network in Fayetteville, TN. This role will focus on reducing freight expenditure, sourcing and managing transportation vendors, overseeing carrier and 3PL relationships, and driving cost-effective transportation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
• Experience managing freight carriers, brokers, and 3PL providers, including contract negotiations and performance management.
• Strong understanding of domestic freight transportation including FTL, LTL, flatbed.
• Experience with freight cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and freight audit/payment processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound and outbound freight transportation across facilities, suppliers, distribution locations, and customers.
• Develop and execute strategies to reduce freight spend through cost analysis, competitive bidding, carrier negotiations, and transportation optimization.
• Source, evaluate, and manage transportation carriers, brokers, and 3PL providers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
• Manage transportation across multiple modes (FTL, LTL, flatbed, intermodal).
• Analyze freight costs, transportation trends, and carrier performance to identify savings opportunities.
• Oversee freight invoice audits, payment processes, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
• Develop and monitor transportation budgets, forecasts, freight cost models, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to align transportation strategies with business needs.
• Manage carrier performance and process improvements; lead logistics projects; ensure compliance with regulations.
