Job summary

Carlile is seeking a Dispatcher in Tacoma, WA to ensure top-level customer service, efficient cargo pickup and delivery, and optimal equipment turn-time. You will route, schedule and dispatch drivers and freight, enter container numbers and times into the dispatch system, and coordinate pickups and deliveries with customers by phone.

The role also involves supporting DOT regulations, safety compliance, and administrative duties, including reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years transportation / dispatch experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate dispatch processes to route, schedule and dispatch drivers and freight.
• Enter container numbers, times and dates into the dispatch system.
• Provide excellent customer service by phone and coordinating pickups/deliveries.
• Coordinate with customer sites to move freight and set appointments as needed.
• Assist with trucking and warehouse operations and prepare reports for operations.
