Job summary

Alaska Marine Lines in Anchorage is seeking a Dispatcher to direct and coordinate full load truck dispatch activities, ensuring efficient pickup and delivery between facilities and customers. This is a full-time position with family-friendly benefits and a competitive pay package.

Qualifications

Three years related experience in transportation preferred.
Ability to schedule and route drivers and coordinate shipments.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (DOT/OSHA) relevant to dispatch.

Responsibilities

Schedule and route drivers of Company trucks to meet freight delivery and pickup needs.
Maintains telephone/radio contact with Company drivers using Compass to send tasks and manage drivers.
Direct scheduling of shipments and notify departments and customers of arrival/delivery times.
Assist HR/Safety to ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA and other agencies.
Daily review of Hours of Service, route optimization, and fuel idling with computer programs.
Assist in terminal operations and equipment control as required.
