Job summary

Mesabi Metallics is seeking a Logistics & Commercial Analyst to support pricing, shipment, inventory, and contract analyses. You will own provisional pricing, conduct mark-to-market reviews, and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize commercial decisions and S&OP planning.

The role requires 3+ years in analytics or related fields, strong Excel/data skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with leadership. Office-based with potential site visits and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics, commercial, logistics, finance or related fields.
• Advanced spreadsheet and data-analysis skills with attention to detail.
• Understanding of pricing, freight, settlement and contracts data.
• Strong written and verbal communication for decision-makers.
• Ability to produce recurring and ad hoc reports quickly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure integrity of shipment, volume, inventory, pricing and logistics data.
• Analyze pricing outcomes and own mark-to-market reporting for open shipments.
• Maintain pricing indices, pellet premiums, freight inputs, market data underpinning analyses.
• Develop landed-cost analyses and present recommendations to leadership.
• Monitor contract drawdown and delivery status against commitments.
• Evaluate logistics KPIs and identify improvement opportunities.
• Review freight invoices and resolve discrepancies with carriers.
• Lead weight/quality reconciliation and assess settlements impact.
• Design S&OP data packs and management reports.
