Job summary

IMI plc is seeking a seasoned Finance Leader to head the Life Science manufacturing finance function for Palmer, MA and Pipersville, PA. The role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on management of budgeting, forecasting, and control across sites.

You will partner with operations, supply chain and engineering to optimize performance, drive ROI, and ensure compliant financial reporting. This position is onsite in Palmer with travel to other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
• CPA, CMA, MBA or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant hands-on manufacturing finance experience.
• Proven experience leading a site, plant, business unit or comparable operational finance function.
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, P&L management, cost accounting, inventory, working capital and internal controls.
• Demonstrated ability to translate financial and operational data into clear recommendations and measurable business improvements.
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to influence and constructively challenge senior and cross-functional leaders.
• Proven people leadership, coaching and team-development capability.
• Strong executive communication, analytical and organizational skills.
• Experience in a multi-site, global or matrixed organization.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Experience in life sciences, medical devices, analytical instrumentation or another regulated manufacturing environment is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecasting, long-range planning and monthly performance reviews across Palmer and Pipersville operations.
• Provide analysis of revenue, profit, gross margin, cash and operational performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Oversee standard costing, inventory, work in process, labor and material variances, productivity and overhead absorption.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality and Commercial leadership to evaluate performance and support pricing, sourcing and growth decisions.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial close, reporting, balance sheet management and compliance with accounting policies and group reporting.
• Improve cash generation through disciplined management of inventory, receivables, payables and capital expenditure.
• Provide financial leadership for capital investment, automation, new product development and ROI reviews.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance and accounting team; build capability and accountability.
• Lead improvements in financial systems, reporting and data quality; optimize ERP usage.
