Treatment Advocacy Center seeks a Legislative & Policy Counsel to analyze bills, draft policy, and advise policymakers nationwide. The role emphasizes civil commitment issues and collaboration with advocates and legal stakeholders.

Remote/home-office work is standard, with periodic coordination across states. The candidate will interpret statutes, maintain TAC’s legislative activity page, and contribute to grant proposals and policy expansion efforts, leveraging JD and 3+ years of relevant legal

Qualificações

• J.D. degree with a minimum of 3 years of civil/criminal law experience.
• Experience in policy analysis or drafting legislation.
• Strong writing and analytical skills; ability to translate policy into law.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze bills and statutes relating to TAC priorities.
• Advise policymakers and draft state legislation or amendments.
• Track changes to statutes and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Prepare policy materials and publications for advocacy.
• Collaborate with partners to expand TAC’s policy work.
