Job summary

JANUS Research Group seeks a Legislative Affairs Specialist to support US Cyber Command at Fort Meade, MD. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with poly, a Bachelor’s degree, and 10+ years in legislative affairs.

You will review congressional transcripts, draft QFR/IFR, monitor defense legislation, and prepare briefings for senior leadership. Strong coordination with government officials is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the legislative affairs field or with department-level planning or execution.
• Experience with legislative and regulatory documents
• Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willing to take a polygraph exam
• Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze congressional hearing transcripts and prepare QFR and IFR.
• Monitor the status of defense legislation, hearings, markups, and floor actions.
• Prepare client staff for congressional hearings and respond to inquiries.
• Coordinate with government officials to obtain review and approval.
• Research and write background papers, talking points, and statements; provide briefings to senior leadership.
