Job summary

JANUS Research Group seeks a Legislative Affairs Specialist to support USCYBERCOM at Fort Meade, MD. Responsibilities include analyzing congressional hearings, preparing QFR/IFR, monitoring defense legislation, and briefing senior leadership. Requires a DoD TS/SCI clearance with poly and a Bachelor’s degree.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in legislative affairs or related planning/execution, and familiarity with regulatory documents; willingness to undergo polygraph and security checks.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the legislative affairs field or with department-level planning or execution.
• Experience with legislative and regulatory documents.
• Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process.

Responsibilities

• Review congressional hearing transcripts and prepare Questions for the Record (QFR) and Inserts for the Record (IFR).
• Monitor defense legislation, hearings, markups, and floor actions.
• Prepare client staff for congressional hearings and respond to inquiries.
• Coordinate with government officials to obtain review and approval.
• Research and write background papers, talking points, and statements; provide briefings to senior leadership.
