Job summary

City and County of Honolulu, Department of Human Resources, seeks a Learning & Talent Development Specialist (HR Specialist II - Training) in Honolulu to support city-wide personnel development and training initiatives.

Under supervision, you will assist in planning, developing, and coordinating training programs, apprenticeship and internship activities, and evaluating program effectiveness. Strong analytical skills and confidentiality are required.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Master's degree may substitute for up to one year of general professional HR work experience.
  • One year of professional HR management work experience required.
  • Six months of professional HR training/education in a large organization may substitute for part of the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, development, and coordination of long-range training plans and programs.
  • Identify and prioritize training activities to meet City needs.
  • Review and evaluate training programs, projects, and activities.
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct training programs.
  • Assist with apprenticeship and student internship program planning and implementation.
