Job summary

Psychedelic Science Funders Collaborative (PSFC) in San Francisco seeks a Director of Scientific Research and Partnerships to lead strategic collaborations with universities, hospitals, and philanthropic sponsors to establish centers of excellence in psychedelic therapy.

You will translate scientific priorities into partnership blueprints, evaluate IITs and grant proposals, travel across the US to meet stakeholders, and help build a durable network that accelerates clinical practice and training

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in business development or partnership management.
• 5+ years in healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (MD, PharmD, biology, bioinformatics, biological engineering or similar)
• Experience with clinical trials and drug development through FDA approval.
• Able to balance high-level strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
• Willing to travel. Must be willing to travel in the US for partnership meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Devise a partnership strategy with medical and academic institutions to build out psychedelic centers of excellence for clinical practice and training.
• Identify and source institutional prospects through research, outreach, and relationship-building to cultivate new partnerships.
• Build trusted relationships and champion collaboration with stakeholders in psychedelic medicine.
• As a grantmaker, evaluate incoming grant proposals and perform due diligence on trial organizations.
• Evaluate IITs for alignment with internal priorities and connect IITs to sponsors with potential scientific input or drug product.
• Connect IITs to sponsors who may provide scientific input and/or drug product.
• Build a framework and engagement playbook for clinical partnerships.
• Manage tools to maintain a real-time snapshot of relationships and forecast opportunities.
• Coordinate with PSFC team and handle shared administrative tasks.
