Job summary

The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) seeks a President to lead a historic, globally recognized institution from its Talladega campus. The role emphasizes vision, transparency, accountability, and a culture that values faculty, staff, consumers, and students.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President oversees multi-campus operations, complex budgets, and statewide partnerships to expand lifelong impact in education and rehabilitation services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree candidates in Education Administration or related fields; MBA also accepted.
• At least ten years of senior administrative experience in education with leadership of staff and budgets.
• Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar operating budgets and capital projects.
• Sign language proficiency at INTERMEDIATE within 36 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership across all campuses and affiliated entities to advance the mission.
• Advise the Board of Trustees and translate governance into institutional policy.
• Lead long-range strategic planning, modernization, and growth of services statewide.
• Recruit, mentor, and align a high-performing senior executive team.
