Job summary

The City of San José Housing Department is seeking a Division Manager for the Homelessness Response Division. This role leads a portfolio of homeless programs, including interim housing, safe parking, and outreach, and supervises 29 full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with six years of experience implementing homeless programs.
• Three years of supervisory experience is required.
• Form 700 disclosure is required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Homelessness Response Division and oversee 29 full-time employees.
• Manage contract oversight, auditing, and reporting for multiple funding sources.
• Develop and implement homeless programs in coordination with City departments.
• Oversee budget development and alignment with program outcomes.
• Mentor division staff and drive program evaluations for continuous improvement.
• Represent the division in City Council memorandums and public presentations.
• Build partnerships with external providers and regional agencies.
