Job summary

The City of Seattle is seeking a Division Director to lead the Homelessness Division within HSD. This role will oversee a team of 40 staff and manage over $175 million in funding to support homelessness services, investments, and policy strategy.

You will collaborate with the Mayor's Office, community partners, and regional bodies to shape strategies, supervise contracts, ensure equitable outcomes, and drive a data-driven continuum of care for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Qualifications

• Eight years directing human services programs in homelessness, social services, low-income housing and related fields.
• Two years of executive-level experience.
• Four years supervising staff in a management or executive role.
• Experience building community relationships and partnerships.
• Demonstrated efforts that reduce racial disparities in the broader community.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with service providers and advocates to shape care direction for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
• Direct policy development, planning, initiatives and implementation with a racial equity lens.
• Present program strategies to the Department Director, Mayor, City Council and community groups.
• Develop and implement a results-based accountability model for program direction.
• Direct program budget and oversee 175 contracts and over $175 million in homeless investments.
• Build partnerships with City departments, government entities, private sector and community groups.
• Oversee operations with a staff of 40 and a management team of three.
• Commit to eliminating inequity and racial disparities.
• Hire and supervise staff, provide feedback and coaching.
• Foster an environment aligned with the Director's vision.
• Provide status on programs to HSD leadership.
• Represent the City as lead expert on homelessness strategy.
• Foster regional partnerships with All Home and related coalitions.
