Job summary

McKesson Corporation is seeking a Director of Executive Payroll Operations to lead end-to-end payroll for executive compensation and senior leader pay. You will ensure accurate, timely, confidential processing and maintain strong controls in a multi-state environment.

This role partners with Executive Compensation, Total Rewards, Finance, Tax, Legal, Payroll, and external advisors to manage bonuses, equity payments, and special events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive payroll experience in a large, multi-state or highly controlled environment.
• Experience supporting executive compensation and equity-related pay programs.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax, wage reporting, and audit requirements.
• Ability to handle confidential compensation matters with discretion and professionalism.
• Experience partnering with senior leaders across Payroll, HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, Accounting, and Total Rewards.
• CPP or compensation certification, Workday Payroll, or SOX/audit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive payroll operations for accurate, timely, compliant, and confidential processing for executives and senior leaders.
• Own executive compensation events including bonuses, equity, deferred compensation, severance, relocation and mobility.
• Maintain payroll controls, reconciliations, documentation, and SOX compliance support for executive payroll processes.
• Support payroll tax and payroll accounting teams with wage reporting, tax validation, and general ledger support.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve complex payroll matters for executives.
• Serve as an escalation point for sensitive payroll inquiries with high-touch service.
• Drive process improvements, automation, reporting enhancements, and data quality across executive payroll operations.
• Lead, coach, and develop payroll staff, fostering accountability and confidentiality.
