Job summary

WHOOP is seeking a senior accounting leader to own the monthly and quarterly close end-to-end for a fast-growing company in Boston. You will manage the close calendar, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses, ensuring alignment with US GAAP and corporate policies.

You will mentor a high-performing accounting team, establish clear ownership and deadlines, and drive process improvements across ERP and BI tooling to support scalable growth and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
• Experience leading and mentoring accounting teams.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SOX/public company readiness.
• Experience with ERP systems and large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and quarterly close end-to-end with calendar, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team with clear ownership and deadlines.
• Streamline close workflows and standardize reconciliations with strong sign-off procedures.
• Oversee ledgers, cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, leases, and intangibles across entities.
• Maintain GAAP compliance and chart of accounts integrity.
