Job summary

The United Nations Youth Office within the UN Secretariat seeks a Chief of Section to advise the Assistant Secretary-General on Youth Affairs, focusing on strategic partnerships, advocacy, and communications to advance inclusive youth engagement globally.

You will lead strategic programs, supervise staff, manage budgets, and drive youth-inclusive policies, representing the office in inter-agency forums and international meetings.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in business, public administration, finance, accounting, law, social science, communications, or a related field.
• Ten years of progressive experience in administration, budget, finance, or HR management.
• Five years of international experience in youth-focused programs; experience in leadership of advocacy campaigns desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide policy guidance to the ASG on strategy development for youth engagement and partnerships.
• Oversee the Section's activities, including advocacy, dialogues, and youth participation in decision-making.
• Manage the Section's work program, resources, and budget, ensuring timely, high-quality outputs.
