AT&T is seeking a Director of People and Decision Science in Dallas, TX to lead a team of data scientists applying economics, statistics, and experimentation to workforce decisions. You will translate complex analyses into practical recommendations for senior HR and business leaders, advancing rigorous, responsible AI practices.

The role focuses on causal inference, predictive modeling, experimental design, and optimization to inform leadership and talent investments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in economics, econometrics, statistics, decision science, or related field.
• Experience leading data scientists, economists, or quantitative researchers.
• Ability to work with large, complex datasets and collaborate with data engineering/tech teams.
• Strong business judgment and ability to communicate technical findings to executives.

Responsibilities

• Build the decision science capability with methods, standards, and research agenda.
• Apply causal inference and econometrics to assess workforce programs and policies.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive models to anticipate outcomes and guide actions.
• Design experiments and quasi-experiments to measure impact of interventions.
• Apply economics to workforce decisions including labor supply/demand and incentives.
• Develop optimization and scenario models for trade-off analysis.
• Lead a team of data scientists and set technical direction.
• Partner with Workforce Intelligence to inform broader products.
• Communicate complex findings clearly to executive audiences.
• Advance analytical rigor and responsible AI practices.
