Job summary

Ryan Lawn & Tree is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations across multiple branch locations. This role blends hands-on accounting work with people leadership, guiding branch-level financials while developing a team of staff.

Ideal candidates are proactive problem-solvers in a fast-paced, multi-location environment. The position emphasizes GAAP knowledge, supervision of staff, and collaboration with operations leadership to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Multi-location/multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting, bank reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus) and advanced Excel skills.
• CPA or CPA candidate a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze financial results for multiple branch locations, identifying trends, variances, and areas of concern.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial reporting across branches.
• Partner with branch and operations leadership to explain financial performance and support decision-making.
• Monitor internal controls across locations and recommend improvements as needed.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting employees.
• Bank reconciliations and fixed asset management (additions, disposals, depreciation schedules).
• Month-end and year-end close processes and financial analysis.
